I love David McCullough’s writing style. It was a great mix of John Adams’s personal story and the story of the revolution. George Washington is the father of our country militarily, but John Adams was just as important for diplomacy and moving toward declaring independence.
John had a “standing order” with a London bookseller for all law and government books to be mailed to him as soon as they came out.
Also, he had an AWESOME wife in Abigail. If only she had lived in a different time she would have been able to serve her country like he did. She did everything that needed doing including sewing, baking, and churning her own butter because it was expected and because she knew her butter to be superior! You go, girl.
